Dr. Candice Chintis
Dr. Candice Chintis has lived in Tucson since 1982. She completed her undergraduate work at the University of Arizona and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Science. Dr. Chintis completed her veterinary degree at Colorado State University earning honorary membership into Phi Zeta, the honor society for veterinary medicine. After graduating, she did an internship at Durango Equine Veterinary Hospital and worked for 2 years at Casa Grande Animal Hospital where the mentorship there provided her the experience in small animal general medicine and surgery that ultimately lead to her lifelong goal of opening her own veterinary practice. Having spent the majority of her life in the Avra Valley community, it only seemed fitting to name her clinic Avra Veterinary Clinic and vow to provide affordable and personable veterinary care to the community she calls home.
Mackenzie grew up in a family of animal lovers. She started working at veterinary clinics before graduating high school and has been in the veterinary industry since! Her love of Western history led her to move to Arizona as a young adult. She now resides in Marana with her menagerie of three dogs, two cats, eight rats and one miniature horse! Her special interests in veterinary medicine include animal husbandry and animal behavior. She’s worked with all kinds of species large and small.
Devon Strege has been working at Avra Veterinary Clinic since April 2021. Devon obtained her RVT license from Carrington College in California. In her off time Devon enjoys spending time with her fiancé Chris, gardening and hanging out with her many pets.
Sydney was born and raised in Tucson. She is an animal lover with 2 horses she competes in barrel racing with. She has a fondness for Australian Shepherds having 3, Nyssa, Ellie and Lainy.
